Centre Step Card

Hello everyone. The beginning of a school year is so busy. I have been back only a few weeks and have only left work on time twice. So many meetings and planning sessions....can't wait for the weekend! I have been working on this card over the last two nights, to help me switch of from school and to have a brain break. I have been wanting to try a centre step card for a while and decided that I would give it a try. My card follows the latest challenge from The Shabby Tea Room. You are asked to create a card or project inspired by the photo incorporating the colors of AQUA AND BROWN AND INCLUDE A SILVER ELEMENT!

I started by going through my papers. I found an older Kaisercraft collection that had papers very close to aqua. It had a vintage/heritage feel and that was the direction I went with. I used a centre step card template from Splitcoaststampers which you can download from here.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder and cut out the frame. Next I started my layers. I die cut an oval with coordinating paper, added my flowers and butterflies. I used some scraps to die cut the leaves.

I used a Spellbinders tags die to add my sentiment. I also added some lace and silver trim to complete the front.

I was really surprised at how easy it was to make this card. I really enjoyed making it!

Supplies:

Paper: Kaisercraft Duchess Collection

Stamp: Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phrases

Ink: Walnut Stain distress ink, Versafine vintage sepia

Other: Spellbinders fancy framed tags one and nestabilities classic ovals large, Sizzix loving thoughts set, Sizzlits little leaves, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Hooked On Craft flowers, Prima flowers, lace and silver trim.

Thanks for stopping by!
