Congratulations

Hello everyone! Things have been a bit quiet in my blog lately but I have been extremely busy! School reports were due (now complete- proofreading is now underway) plus I have been creating projects for a second round for a DT. I can't share those projects until I hear back. As a result of the hectic times, my body and mind are both exhausted!!! I have had a headache for about three days straight now, so making this card helped me get my mind off things and also to relax a little bit.

The card I am sharing with follows the colour combo challenge, currently at JustRite Stampers.

I pulled out an older Kaisercraft paper pad that I have which contains these colours and I started from there. I selected a labels stamp and die cut it using a Spellbinders die. I layered it with a few dies, also from Spellbinders. I used foam tape between each of the layers to add dimension. The twisted metal tags die finishes off this element, it fits in perfectly between the layers...the foam tape really helped because this isn't attached with any adhesive!

TIP
I used a Martha Stewart punch to create a horizontal border. I haven't been so accurate with my punching with this punch of late and I didn't know why. I saw on a website that if you punch through some aluminium foil that it sharpens the punch. I did this a few times and hey presto...perfect punches!

To complete my card I added some lace, ribbon, bow and some pearl flourishes. I used a Kaisercraft pearl flourish, but trimmed it to fit in the space that I wanted it to be. I also added some flowers and a trinket pin.

Supplies:

Paper: Kaisercraft Devonshire Collection, Stampin' Up! very vanilla, DCWV brights

Stamp: JustRite Stampers Elegant Frames

Ink: Spiced marmalade distress ink

Other: Spellbinders labels eighteen, labels twenty, fancy framed tags one, twisted metal tags and accents, Martha Stewart doily lace punch, Kaisercraft pearl flourish and pearls, Prima flowers interlude and petal pins pearls, lace, ribbon, Becca's peg bow maker.

Thanks for stopping by!
