Memory ~ Kaisercraft ~

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I am going to share a layout that I have created using the Factory 42 Collection. This collection has so many wonderful elements to create with. I have used the papers to create a layout of my cousin’s twin boys. As you can see, the grungy feel of the papers works well with for boys of any age. As I look at different collections, I often hear myself saying ‘ooh I love this paper’ and end up with too many papers on my table and feeling overwhelmed with how to move forward in my design. Limit yourself to approximately 2-3 pages and you will be right to go!

Trim 1.3cm (1/2”) of IRONWORKS and then apply clear gesso. Ink and distress the edges. To save paper, cut the centre out of MACHINE, leaving a 5cm (2”) border around the edge. This paper can be used as mats and embellishments.

Mat your photo using left over MACHINE and dimensional foam tape. Distress and ink the edges for a grungy look. Use GEARS and COGS to create other mats and embellishments. Use a pencil to mark their placement on the background paper.

Use sprays to create extra interest to the background. Once dry, use an archival ink and stamp a texture stamp randomly around the page.

Use both the front and the reverse of the selected papers to complete the layout. Use parts and pieces of left over papers, dimensional foam to assist in the tucking in of embellishments. Even use flowers!

The title was created by die cutting one of the Decorative Dies word dies onto chipboard. It was altered simply by using one of Kaiser ink pads and inking the edges in a brown ink.
