Hello everyone. I am sharing a card with you that follows a sketch from The Sweet Stop.

I go through stages with papers/collections that I love. I pulled out an old favourite of mine, Prima Fairy Belle and started from there.

I fussy cut the fairy image and layered her on some cheese cloth and some Spellbinder dies. I placed her over some flowers to show that she is connected to them.

I used some Martha Stewart punches, lace and ribbon to form the horizontal bands shown on the sketch. I also added some flowers, resin heart a bow and trinket pin to add some shabby chic touches.

My sentiment uses some left over papers from the oval frames. Some pearls just finish it off.

Hello everyone! I am sharing with you my card that follows the current sketch from Cardabilities.

When I saw this sketch I wasn't sure how I was going to create the circle motifs. After playing around with some of my vintage elements I decided that flowers was the way to go. I like to move things around before gluing anything down. I used a variety of crochet flowers and mulberry roses across the centre. It looked fine but then I added some die cuts and then I was happy!

I used foam tape behind each of the banners to add dimension. It also gives you a little wiggle room to move them in case they are not in the right place.

I added some adhesive pearls to the centre of the crochet flowers as they looked a bit bare. The sentiment used some left over papers...nothing goes to waste!

Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing with you my first ever attempt at a mixed media canvas. In the last couple of days, I haven't been in the mood to create anything. Didn't feel making a card or a layout...mojo gone! I watched some craft videos that I have saved and I watched some She Art tutorials. After watching the Christy Tomlinson Mixed Media Collage: She Art (tease to she art class) & Somerset Studios Project I felt motivated! The techniques I tried out are found in her tutorial. I have been a fan of the She Art style for a little while now. I love the freedom to explore and the textures and different materials that you can implement into your design. For my project, I pulled out lots of things that have been stored away for a long time....rub ons, scrap papers and my latest additions some stencils (new and old). I tend to be an impulsive craft shopper. If I see something I'll buy it and may not use it for 6-12 months or even longer! Most of the products that I used are by Kaisercraft. I have some bits and pieces of papers from past collections that I haven't used and saw this as a way of using them.

This quote was from older rubon range from Kaisercraft. I rubbed sections of the quote onto some scraps from the project, cut it out, applied paint around the edge and doodled with a black felt tip pen.

Hello everyone! I cannot believe how quickly my school holidays have gone. So much to do in so little time. I have had so many appointments and people to catch up with. I have a card to share with you. It follows the latest challenge from The Shabby Tea Room. You are asked to create a card or project inspired by the INSPIRATION PHOTO USING YELLOW, GREEN, WHITE (OR CREAM) AND INCLUDE FLOWERS AND POLKA DOTS!

Oh my dear friend yellow is back and always is a challenge for me. However, I have papers from Kaisercraft 's Pickled Pear collection and they work perfectly for this challenge. As there were yellow flowers in the paper I wanted the paper to stand out.

I die cut a filigree frame and cut the centre out. I attached it with some small pieces of foam tape. It frames a lovely cluster of yellow roses. I began to layer from there. I used a scallop polka dot die cut, then some lace, rose trim and some pearls.

I stamped my sentiment and created a fishtail banner to frame it. Some cherry blossom, leaves, bow and a butterfly complete my card.

Religious Applique

Hello everyone. I have been having a little break from my paper crafts to complete some other craft projects. I teach at a Private Catholic school. When we celebrate mass, we have a special folder for Father which contains a printout of the mass. The current mass folder is becoming a little worn, so I was asked by our REC if I could update it.

The image was selected from the front cover of our Easter mass booklet. I traced it and created an applique. As it was a stained glass image, I had to draw and cut out each section, adhere into place using a fusible stabiliser then I set my machine to a small zig zag and stitched it into place. This was time intensive and so well worth it.

There is a space above this image which I think needs something. When school goes back I'm sure someone will have a suggestion. Here is a photo of the old mass folder with my creation.

This is a short post. I am working on a few things and will post them when I'm finished. I have about three unfinished projects that I would like to have finally finished so fingers crossed!

Masculine Card ~ Vintage ~

Hello everyone! I have a card to share with you today that I made for my brother. It's my brother's birthday on Anzac Day but we are celebration today/night.  I always struggle with masculine cards as I don't like boat and car images and they don't suit all males so I went vintage.

I created the background by stamping a script stamp using Versamark then embossing it with clear embossing powder. It went darker(accidental discovery) on the crumb cake cardstock and it was perfect. I also used other stamps and inked around the edges and in random places on the card front.

I used distress stain to colour the chipboard cogs. I applied a layer of rock candy crackle paint and used my heat tool to dry them

I continued the vintage look inside the card. I used the banners to hide a paper join.

One thing I am really pleased is that I still managed to have ribbon and a bow on my card!

Embrace Life

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing with a card that I created which follows a sketch from The Sweet Stop and also the April Mood Board from Maja Designs.

I really love all of the papers from Maja Designs. They are vintage, beautiful and oh so gorgeous! I was so fortunate to have found a stockist in Australia as it can be difficult to source OS paper lines. I have wanted to create a tag, and when I saw The Sweet Stop sketch I thought that this is so perfect for me.

I have papers from the Vintage Summer Basics collection. I played around with them and used some scraps from other projects as well (nothing goes to waste!)

I wanted the tag to be the focus of the card.

I used the Tim Holtz mini bird cage die and some scraps to create the centre image. I inked the bird to give it some dimension. I used foam tape to apply it to the tag to make it pop. I used some cheese cloth to add some softness as well.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing with you my card that I have created following the latest sketch from Cardabilities.

When I saw this sketch I had many ideas. I had a lovely Spellbinders frame that I have made and tried working with it, but it was too small. I was not having any luck so I decided to walk away from it and try again another time. Next day...BINGO! things came together. My card is more vintage this time. I stayed with my 6x6 size and found this easier to work with.

I used a combination of black, crumb cake (kraft), pink and papers from Prima Tea Thyme. I inked the edges of my background papers then distressed them using the Distrezz It All. To create my banner, I used some patterned paper backed with some crumb cake. I inked the edges then added some lace to the sides.  I used some foam tape to add dimension to this as well. The centre is a Spellbinders tag die cut using the crumb cake. I stamped my sentiment then cut it out using an ovals die. Again I used foam tape to add dimension to each layer. Some flowers and a bow complete my card.
