Kaisercraft ~ Gingerbread Collection ~ Merry Christmas Card and Fabric Envelope

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing my projects that I have created using Kaisercraft's Gingerbread Collection. Kaisercraft have certainly outdone themselves with their beautiful Christmas Collections this year. My card has a vintage feel to it...subtle tones with the bling!

I added some glitter to the snowflake die cuts, which adds the right amount of shimmer! I also added some pearls to the larger die.

Supplies:

Kaisercraft Products: Gingerbread Paper Pad PP916, Kaisercard Weave Mocha CD110, Gingerbread Clear Stamps CS117, Pearls Pearl SB713, Mini Paper Blooms Fire Red F669

Other:

Spellbinders Labels Four, Gold Labels Four and 2013 Snowflake Pendant, Stampin’ Up! Pool Party ink, Very Vanilla Cardstock and Glitter Dazzling Diamonds, Martha Stewart branch punch, Sullivans holly punch, Hug Snug seam binding chalky white.

Fabric Envelope

For my second project, I have made a fabric envelope. It's been a little while since I've done any sewing and this project is simple and quick to make. I followed some simple instructions which you can find here. I used a button hole on my projects, but you could use velcro as another option.

I used one of the clear stamps from the collection. I stamped it using VersaCraft ink. This ink is best used on fabric. Once you have stamped with it, you need to heat set it with a hot iron on both sides. I used some decorative stitches on my machine to create my stitched border.

Supplies:

Kaisercraft Products: Gingerbread Clear Stamps CS117

Other: VersaCraft Black fabric ink, Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia, Felt, Christmas Fat Quarter, Callico, Burlap, Scallop Pinking Shears, Sewing Machine, Button

Fabric Flower Tutorial

Hello everyone. Today I have a flower tutorial to share with you. I absolutely love adding flowers to my projects. I also love flowers that are constructed in different ways. As I can sew, I often look at how things are constructed and attempt to recreate them myself....saves money!

Supplies:
- calico
- decorative centre
- sewing machine
- gathering foot
- felt circle
- needle
- thread

Steps:
1. Die cut a small circle out of felt.
2. Cut a strip of calico that measures 30cm x 2 inches.
3.Fold strip a few times and using fabric scissors, cut scallops along the edge.
4. Attach a gathering foot to your sewing machine and change settings to longest stitch length and the highest thread tension setting.
5. Sew along the edge. (Hint: I have had the best success with placing the gathering foot so that the edge of the foot touches the edge of the fabric).
6. Trim to your sewn line.
7. Position your gathered fabric into your desired shape and using a needle and thread sew onto the felt circle.
8. Attach your decorative centre.

Below is a video tutorial for you to view as well. I hope you'll give this a try!

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone. I hope that you weekend is a good one! Today I am sharing a LO for the Saturday Sketch at the Kaisercraft blog. The sketch is below:

The LO that I have created is a departure from my usual style. I had a go at using patterns that are bright. To help myself I played with papers from the collection that I thought I could use. I added a small border to help separate the patterns.

I also used glitter as my texture. I have some glitter papers and I used them in my ornaments.

Click here to go to the Kaisercraft blog where you can see information about the Saturday Sketch Challenge. I hope you'll have a go!
