Baby Card ~ Twins~

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card that I have made for my cousin and his wife who are about to become parents to twin boys!

I have used a combination of Green Tara flowers with Wild Orchid Crafts apple blossoms to create my flower clusters. I die cut some leaves using an Elizabeth Craft Designs die.
To add to the wreath, some drops of liquid pearls added some finishing touches.
The onesies came from a really versatile die set from Little B. I used some scraps of paper from the collection and using a sponge dauber, inked the edges using a distress ink.

Supplies:

Paper: Maja Design Vintage Baby (paper pad)

Ink: Distress Ink Vintage Photo

Dies:  Little B Baby, Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork and Catalina Wreath, Elizabeth Craft Designs Curvy Leaves

Flowers: Green Tara, Wild Orchid Crafts Apple Blossoms and White Roses

Other: Bakers Twine, Liquid Pearls, Paper Doily and Hemp.

Happy Birthday ~ Steampunk Style~

Hello everyone. I have a birthday card to share with you today. My dear friend is celebrating his birthday this week and I wanted to make him a card. This was attempt number two. The first one ended up on the bin!

I used ground espresso, peacock feathers and blueprint sketch distress inks and a stamp from  Ultimate Grunge stamp set to create my background.  I die cut the weathered clock die and used Lindy's Stamp Gang midnight bronze embossing powder to alter it.

I also die cut some other cogs by Spellbinders and altered them using rusty hinge and ground espresso distress inks. Using my finger, I dabbed some antiqued bronze and tarnished brass distress paints in random places.
The images and sentiment were inked with vintage photo to get the aged look. The three steampunk men were adhered using foam tape for extra dimension.

Supplies:

Stamps: Tim Holtz Framelits with Stamps Possibilities, Simple Sayings and Ultimate Grunge

Dies: Donna Salazar/Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets, Die-namics mini film strip, Tim Holtz Weathered Clock

Ink: Distress Inks: Ground espresso, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, black soot, rusty hinge, vintage photo, Ranger archival jet black, versafine onyx black, distress paint antiqued bronze and tarnished brass

Other: Brass brads, Lindy's Stamp Gang midnight bronze embossing powder

Rustic Cabin - Tim Holtz Village Dwelling

Hello everyone! Today I have a new project to share with you. I have been madly pinning all of the wonderful Village Dwelling creations on Pinterest as I am a huge fan! Before the holidays, I placed an order for the dies so that I would have time during the school holidays to make some of these wonderful structures. I have named this one Rustic Cabin due to the weathered papers that I used to decorate. Kaisercraft released a collection called Base Coat and it was perfect as way of decorating. It took me a while to get the hang of manipulating everything but be warned...lots of sticky inky fingers result from making these so have baby wipes handy LOL!

To create the roof, I had some silver corrugated cardstock in my stash which was perfect for the roof.

While the front and back panels are flat, I cut rectangular pieces of vellum to place behind the windows so that when you place a battery operated tealight candle inside, you are able to attain that warm flickering glow!

Supplies:

Die: Tim Holtz Village Dwelling Die

Paper: Kaisercraft Base Coat Paper Pad and Game On Collection P1494 :MVP (Base)
Bella! Silver Grey Corrugated Vintage Cardstock, Clear Vellum

Ink: Distress Ink Black Soot and Ground Espresso

Glue: Helmar Tacky Craft Glue, Scotch Quick Dry, Xron 2.5" create a sticker

Other: Tim Holtz Mini Fasteners

Giraffe

Hello everyone! Today is my last day of the school holidays (sigh with sadness) and it's back to work tomorrow. I thought that I would take the chance to get a short blog post in before I get stuck into some school work today. I have been busy crocheting several baby gifts these holidays and one type of project that I wanted to make was an amigurumi giraffe. It was a bit time intensive for me as my stitch count was off at times and I had to redo rounds a few times but I finished it and I couldn't be happier! The blanket it is sitting on is also part of the gift so I can't wait to give it to my dear friend once he becomes a grandparent. I followed the tutorial on The Crochet Crowd. As I was following the video tutorial, it helped me a lot with learning to read the pattern.

Here are some close ups..

I used Marvel 8 ply wool and a 4mm crochet hook to complete my project. The safety eyes I bought from Spotlight.

Follow Your Heart - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all well. I have decided to continue practising with other mediums and decided to create a canvas, as I haven't made one for ages! I do like the She Art style and thought that this would be the direction that I would go in.

I applied white gesso and once dries I then used a stencil and some texture paste to some areas of the canvas. I then sprayed some LSG sprays.

The house image was simply some shapes that I cut out. I used some white gesso around the edges. I rubbed some gelatos around the edges of the shapes that were a complimentary colour to the papers and then used a dark gelato around the outside of the entire house. I then used various stamps to add texture.

I drew a tree onto the paper and glued it onto the canvas in the same manner as the house. I also used gesso and gelatos as before. I did outline the image with a black pen. I used a stamp to stamp hearts onto the tree and gelatos to create the leaves. I outlined them both with the pen to add definition.

I originally wanted to use a Darkroom Door sentiment stamp but it was too big for my canvas! So instead I printed the sentiment onto my compute and cut it out.
I used Prima oil pastels to colour these butterflies in. They react so beautifully with water.

Supplies:

Canvas: 8" x 8"

Paper: Grace Taylor Vintage Scrapbook Pad

Ink: Staz On Jet Black and Blazing Red

Masks: Maya Road and Tim Holtz Dot Fade

Stamps: Bobunny Stitches and It is Written, 49 Market Gabi's Square Stitch Stamps set, Gabi's  Circle Stamp set, Gabi's Butterflies are Free, Fiskars Clear Stamps Border Patrol

Other: Gelatos and Prima Water Soluble Oil pastels, Lindy's Stamp Gang Star Burst Blue Hawaiian Blue and Tiffany Blue, Maiden Hair Fern Green and Jack in the Pulpit Teal, Mister Hueys Opaque White, Liquitex White Gesso, Art Basics Soft Matt Gell and Modelling Paste
