You're Invited

Hi everyone. It's amazing that even when you're on holidays, there still are never enough hours in the day to get things done! I did find some time to create a card. This card is based on the latest challenge from The Shabby Tea Room.
The challenge follows the theme of 'You're Invited'. You are encouraged to use the beautiful photo for inspiration and to create an INVITATION inspired by the photo!

Last week, I was inspired by Gabrielle Pollacco's mixed media creations. I too had a look at the book "Collage Couture" by Julie Nutting and based my figure from her designs. This was a trial run for when I have a go at creating a mixed media canvas.

Here is my figure....
Initially, my figure was holding a martini glass.....but looking at the inspiration photo -  cake and alcohol don't mix!! For the background, I die cut two nestabililty frames and joined them together with foam tape, to add dimension. I die cut another frame and embossed it with a polka dot folder to add some interest. I placed the figure over these layers with foam tape to make her stand out and also to offer some stability to the figure.

I stamped a cake image and used a marker to colour it in. I added liquid pearls, to add bling and also some 'fluffiness' to the icing.

I stamped my sentiment and embellished it in the same way as the cake, just to get some balance.

Stamps: Fiskars Easy Stamp Press Wedding
