Sentro Knitting Projects

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. I am sharing a post, which will show some projects that I made over a period of time. I have been stock piling these for when I was ready to donate. School is currently supporting the winter appeal and are collecting donations which include beanies, scarves etc for the homeless.

I made quite a few using  my Sentro knitting machines. I also played around end experimented with different yarns, used up scraps and made a combination of scarves, fingerless gloves, and beanies.

I will share more over the next few days. It feels great that I can contribute to those who are not so fortunate.

Stay safe and thanks for stopping by!

Granny Square Bag

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great day. I have been busy making lots of granny squares. I came across a tutorial by B.Hooked Crochet where you use a tote bag as a liner for your crochet. I loved this idea and thought I would do this.

I purchased a polyester tote bag from Kmart. My crochet squares didn't reach the top and sides of my bag. I joined my nine squares together using a SC then crocheted one row of clusters around the edge. Once the front and back were done in this way, I joined the sides and bottom with SC.

I attached 4 buttons where the straps are on the tote bag. I SC around the top part of the bag till I reached the buttons. It was approx 5 rows then I added a row to make 4 button holes, SC more rows and then the bag was complete.

Thanks to B.Hooked Crochet for this great idea!

Beanie and fingerless gloves

Hello everyone! It has been quite a while since I posted. School reports took over but now I have time to be creative. I have been enjoying knitting and crocheting again since its been cold. I'll be sharing the projects I have made, a lot using my Sentro knitting machines. I used a 46 needle Sentro to make the beanie and I used the braid stitch technique to add some fun detail. I used some left over wool to crochet these gloves...so happy with how they turned out.

I have more to share soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Giraffe

Hello everyone! Today is my last day of the school holidays (sigh with sadness) and it's back to work tomorrow. I thought that I would take the chance to get a short blog post in before I get stuck into some school work today. I have been busy crocheting several baby gifts these holidays and one type of project that I wanted to make was an amigurumi giraffe. It was a bit time intensive for me as my stitch count was off at times and I had to redo rounds a few times but I finished it and I couldn't be happier! The blanket it is sitting on is also part of the gift so I can't wait to give it to my dear friend once he becomes a grandparent. I followed the tutorial on The Crochet Crowd. As I was following the video tutorial, it helped me a lot with learning to read the pattern.

Here are some close ups..

I used Marvel 8 ply wool and a 4mm crochet hook to complete my project. The safety eyes I bought from Spotlight.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Baby Blanket

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Thank you for your words of kindness in your comments from my last project. It certainly was greatly appreciated. Today I share a project that brings joy. I have a dear friend who will be a grandparent for the first time in a few months. I decided to do some crocheting and have been working on this blanket for a little while.

It is 66cm x 45cm (approx 18" x 26"). I used nine different coloured 8ply yarns. The blanket was completed using double crochet (US single crochet).

The border was also completed using double crochet using two yarns that were used in the blanket.
I like bright and I wanted it to be as uni-sex as possible. I plan to make a toy to go with the blanket in the school holidays when I have a bit of time.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Gift of Giving

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing with you a photo of a project that I have completed with my class. This started last term and I finished it this morning. I taught them how to French Knit and this is what we finished up with.

I crocheted some granny squares around the edges and also crocheted a border around the side. To read more about this project, click on the link and you will go to my other blog which I use for educational related things.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
