Slimline Card

Hello everyone. I hope that you are keeping safe and well. It has been a little while since I've shared a project with you, but with the challenges of Covid affecting shipping, Kaisercraft have experienced problems in receiving product. I am glad to be able to share a slimline card with you, using the Le Belle Collection. Its vintage and gorgeous.

I have enjoyed creating cards using slimline dimensions. I use 9" x 4" for my card base.

For the focal area of my card, I have used a birdcage and butterfly from the collectables. I fussy cut some flowers from Garden (reverse) to add to the base of the cage. I then altered some paper blooms to add dimension and also add a vintage feel to the card.

As I had chosen a slimline card as my card design, I could take advantage of the extra length of the card front. I used a variety of fishtails created from dies from my stash and adhered them using glue and foam tape to add dimension.

To all of my fellow Sydney friends, I hope the current lockdown has not been too difficult for you and that you are all safe and well.

Take good care.

Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone! It's been a very long while but I am very happy to be able to share a birthday card with you today. It's using paper from Kaisercraft's new release Lilac Mist.

To create my card, I wanted to showcase lots of the papers as I had a difficult time deciding which ones I wanted to use as I liked them all. To help me in my design decision, I pulled out of the paper pad some papers that were my first choice - which were four! Next I went to Pinterest and had a look at the card sketches. I often do this to kick start my ideas and then I found a sketch that appealed to me. This sketch would enable me to showcase the papers I selected plus provide me with some options in my composition.

My take on the sketch....

To get the dimensions of the smaller squares, I just cut out scrap paper and played around with them until I was happy with everything.

Once my papers were positioned, I embellished with flowers and dies from previous releases.

Bon Joyage ~ Explorer Collection

Hello everyone! What a crazy time it has been. I have finished my school year and am now enjoying school holidays with a severe case of teacher tired. Hopefully it will pass and I will actually start to enjoy my break! Today I am sharing a layout which uses products and papers from Kaisercraft's December release called Voyage. I think this is something we are all craving...some travel to have a break or even to reconnect with people and loved ones physically. I think the digital connections we have learnt to use have been a blessing but it isn't the same as the real thing.

The photo I have chosen has tones which compliment the papers but also tell a story. The girl is looking forward and to me maybe searching. In 2021, we could be searching for new things, a fresh start, new adventures, hope. I added the calendar beside the photo to indicate this as well.

The collectables have so many great elements that can be used to compliment the page. I used them as some layers and used mounting foam to add dimension.

I also added a doily and some flowers to add a vintage feel to my layout.

Pretty Floral Slimline Cards

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I am sharing two slimline cards using papers and products from the gorgeous Flower Shoppe Collection by Kaisercraft. Slimline cards are very on trend at the moment and I wanted to have a try at creating this type of card.

In this card, I wanted to use lots of flowers and the butterflies. I stacked the flowers over some die cut cuts, plus some collectable pieces. I also used some fish tails, to take advantage of the length of this card design.

To create the base of my cards, I used a strong A4 cardstock. I trimmed it down to 8" x 9". On a scoreboard, with the 8" side facing the top, I scored it down the centre at 4", creating a 4" x 9" card.

For my second card, I created the same cardbase as above and utilised the pretty collectables to decorate my card.

To create a shabby chic look, I used some decorative dies as accents.

Happy Birthday Card

Hello everyone! I hope that you are safe and well. Today I am sharing a card with you that features stamps and products from the Lily and Moss Collection by Kaisercraft. I was really inspired by the stamp set and decided that I would use this as my main focus for my card.

I used my copic markers to colour one of the stamps that are part of the stamp set. Once I had finished colouring the image in, I used a white gel pen to add some details to the largest blooms.

To add a vintage feel to my card, I added some die cut details around my stamped image. I used the corner die from the ornate pack 2 plus some rhinestones.

If you don't own copic markers, this image would like beautiful watercoloured using watercolour markers. It doesn't take a long time to colour in, but the results are very pleasing!

Grateful

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. I cannot believe how quickly time has passed and that this post will be my last for 2019....more new projects to follow in the new year. My layout features papers from the December release Grand Bazaar Collection from Kaisercraft and it is titled "Grateful." At the end of each year, we truly have so much to be grateful for, even in times when we are surrounded by hardship such as the bushfires and drought. We can only hope that the new year brings us a positive start and the much needed rain we are all praying for.
I have altered some paper blooms to use in my layout. To learn how to do this I have a tutorial in a previous blog post or you can click here to view the video.

I really liked the sentiments found in the tags from the collectables and incorporated these into my layout just by tucking them in at the end of my borders.
I created my own title by using a word die and kraft cardstock. I kept my embellishments muted so they would compliment the papers and also not compete with the colours of the boys' clothing.

Supplies:

PAPERS: Grand Bazaar Collection – P2873 Carefree, CD606 Navy Cardstock, CD651 Kraft

KC PRODUCTS: CT975 Grand Bazaar Collectables, IT499 Crochet Doily Designer Template, Paper Blooms F628 Honey, F635 Terracotta, F636 Ruby

OTHER: Modelling Paste, Bling Centres, Stamens, DD703 Fabulous Decorative Die

Thanks for all of your support in 2019!
