Hello ~ Meg's Garden

Hello everyone! Best wishes to you and yours for the holiday season. It has been a while since I have created a project for Meg's Garden and I felt my sentiment of 'hello' was fitting. Today I am using papers from the Spring Flowers Collection. There are soft pastel tones, vintage ephemera and lovely delicate images to create shabby chic projects.

To add dimension to my layers, I have used lots of foam tape! I used a large die from Poppy Stamps called Big Hello. I liked the thin script so you can see the beautiful papers beneath.
I  added some Nuvo Glitter Accents to add a bit of sparkle in random places including on the flowers.
I layered an older border Spellbinders Parisian accents die from my stash to compliment the lace. I also cut down a doily to frame one of the ephemera cards. These all add to the shabby chic feel of the card.

Cards With Different Folds ~ Meg's Garden

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I am sharing two cards that I have made using papers from the Sherlock III collection, Lavande and the Vintage Flower Journal Cards. Just for a change, I have created cards with different folds, and embellished them in a vintage/shabby chic style.

For my first card, I decided that I would make and accordian fold card.

It is secured with a band, that can can open and close. The two ends slightly overlap and are secured with velcro dots.

The base of my card is kraft cardstock. I used both Sherlock III and Lavande papers to decorate the panels of the card.

The centre image is a Vintage Floral Journal Card.

After securing it to the card, I scored it so that it could lift up. You can stamp/write your message here.

My second card is a square lace tri-fold card. The base is kraft cardstock and I have used the Sherlock III papers.

Again, it is secured into place using a band and velcro dots. This is the inside view of the card.

The back view of the card.

For both cards, I used Lori Whitlock cut files which I then used on Silhouette Cameo machine.

Supplies:

Other: Memory Box Winterberry Sprig, Leavenworth Butterfly Trio, Poppy Stamps Lorelai Leaf, Magnolia Rose Leaf, Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers, Elizabeth Crafts Curvy Leaves, Lori Whitlock A2 Stepped Accordian Fold Card and Square Lace Tri-Fold Card.

Happy Easter ~ Maja Design~

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing an Easter project with you. As Easter is only a few days away, I was inspired to create a project that embraced the season. For both my card and basket I used papers from the Vintage Spring Basics Collection.

I bought a chipboard basket from my local craft store and pulled it apart (the handle). Using scrap paper, I traced a template before transferring it onto the 12” Vintage Spring Basics 3rd of March paper. I had some button brads in my stash that coordinated perfectly with the papers which I used to reconnect the handle back onto the basket. I used a Prima white edger to ink the raw edges. This was so quick to alter and the end result is so cute!

To create my card I used papers from the Vintage Spring Basics paper pad. I always pull out the possible papers that I might use and play around with them for a while until I find a combination that I like.

My sentiment is the reverse label from 2nd of March paper...don’t throw away your scraps...they come in so handy!

As you can see, I used a few dies here. I used a Spellbinders D-lites Filigree Egg die and Elegant Ovals with the centre removed to frame the egg. I backed the egg using a paisley paper from the paper pad to add another layer that was subtle enough to provide a contrast to the yellow paper. I framed the egg with various flowers from stash that I have had for quite a while. I had some daffodils which work perfectly with my sentiment. I die cut some leaves using Poppy Stamps Lorelai Leaf die and shaped them using a stylus and moulding pad from my Susan’s Garden Tool Kit.
