Wallet Style Album ~ Parisian Gardens ~

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I have a wallet style album to share with you. The construction of this album is quite simple. I followed a tutorial by Ginger from My Sister's Scrapper which you can find here. The benefit of this style album is that it is easy to construct and it doesn't use a lot of paper. You can personalise to your style or for the occassion you wish it to showcase.

One thing that is important is to plan which papers you wish to use for the front, back and inside of your album. It sounds silly but you don't want to be short nonetheless. I used some lace and a metal embellishment which you can find form Meg's Garden. The butterfly was a stamp that I had and I stamped it onto some scraps from the collection. My album uses magnets to keep it secure.

This is the inside view when the front is first opened. All of the stamps used were Kaisercraft stamps from my stash.

The first reveal....
The complete inside view with the accordian sections extended.
The back view of the album.

As you can see, this album hold lots of photos. In order to be able to open and close the album I have used the majority of my embellishments on the front cover. You could alter some of the spaces allocated for photos for journalling spots.

This album is a Christening gift for my cousin and I hope he and his wife enjoy the little snapshot of their sons in this wallet.

Family

Hello again! I have been making a lot of cards lately and felt it was time to create a layout. The layout I am sharing with you follows the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch. It's been a while since I have participated in one of their challenges and I really liked the current sketch. You are asked to follow the current theme of LOVE. You are free to scrap about any kind of love you wish however you like based on the following sketch.

Ideas for journalling: love for your partner, family , parents ,siblings , children, work, students, craft, music, extra curricular activities. Whatever it is that you connect LOVE with.

I decided to create a circular frame. I used some chipboard and a EK Success curvey cutter to create my large circle. I used some Spellbinders dies to create two fleur de lis shape again out of chipboard. I painted all three pieces with gesso, then white paint and finally with crackle medium. I glued all together and had a vintage looking frame.

I used some more Spellbinders dies to die cut some flourishes. I repeated the above steps but didn't add crackle medium. I simply inked the edges with brown ink to create an aged look. For my title, I used a layer of gesso, inked it with a deep blue distress ink and finished it off with the crackle medium.

The papers I used are from Meg's Garden. The collection has some lovely papers that you can fussy cut from. I'm not as accurate as some designers, but I managed to use some in my LO. I used one of the 6x6 papers to add my journalling.

Here are some more close ups....

Supplies:

Paper: Meg's Garden Forget Me Not Collection 2, DCWV neutral stack

Ink: Distress ink Faded Jeans, ColorBox chestnut roan

Vintage Birthday

Hello everyone! I am sharing with you a birthday card that I have made for a friend of mine who will be celebrating his birthday this week. As he loves cars, I felt that a vintage/steampunk design would fit the bill. I inked all edges with ink then distressed them. I used a number of chippies for this card. I painted the clock with white acrylic paint. Once dry, inked the edges then stamped over the top of it. Once dry, I applied a layer of rock candy to add more texture.
For the gears, I placed the largest gear inside an embossing folder and ran it through my Spellbinders Grand Callibur. I applied a layer of distressed stain, and with my finger dabbed some blue paint. While wet I added the rock candy.

This is my first attempt at steampunk. I think it's great style for masculine cards and also a great way to incorporate textures into projects.

Supplies:

Paper: Kaisercraft After Five Collection 6" paper pad, kraft cardstock

Stamps: Bobunny Weekend Market and Midnight Frost, Waltzingmouse Stamps chicken wire, Stampin' Up! teeny tiny sentiments

Ink: Distress ink walnut stain, Distress stain walnut stain, StazOn jet black and Colorbox chestnut roan

Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder textile, WOW clock and gears, Dusty Attic name plate, distress crackle paint rock candy, Kaisercraft acrylic paint white and sea breeze, Distrezz It All.

Thanks for stopping by!
