Proud as a Peacock

Hello everyone! The card I am sharing with follows the latest JustRite Friday Challenge. For JRFC #086, you are asked to get out those jewel tone papers and accessories and use any colors (or similar) from the inspiration photo in your project.

What a challenge! These are colours that I normally don't use in my projects. After going through my supplies I pulled out any potential papers that I had and was surprised to find some papers that could work.

I started with the centre/sentiment. I used a labels stamp and built it up from there. I embossed the bottom paper layer with a fleur de lis impressability. My sentiment was selected as it had a similar fleur de lis feel and then finally I used a Spellbinders fleur de lis element to frame it.

Next I moved on to the peacock image. I fussy cut the peacock from Webster's Pages Royal Christmas papers. One of their designers incorporated a decorated chipboard piece into the peacock design which I thought looked amazing. I die cut a flourish and finished it off with some glitter. I applied some to the body of the peacock as well.

The final part of my card is the floral cluster. I like the flow from the peacock and I wanted to use it on the other side of the label. I added two die cut flourishes, flowers and a bow. I also used some feathers to suggest a hint of peacock feathers!

Stamps: JustRite Fleur de Lis labels Twenty and You're So Sweet set
