A Simple Christmas Card

Hello everyone. Things have been a bit quiet here on my blog. To be honest, I've been feeling quite sad lately with the events at Martin Place and haven't been feeling very creative. It's amazing how something so tragic affects people. It is very sad and the people of Sydney are showing their support as well as their grief for the victims. Two of my siblings have been to leave some flowers and I think I may do the same tomorrow....it may help me move forward.

The card I am sharing is quite simple. I just wanted the intricate dies to stand out. Again, I went for a vintage feel.

Supplies:

Paper: Glitz Designs Joyeux Noel

Ink: Distress Ink Vintage Photo

Other: Spellbinders Holiday and 2013 Snowflake Pendant, SU! Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas Set,  Flat Back Pearls.

Happiest Birthday

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing with my final card as a DT with Cardabilities. As always, the sketch created by Karan is amaizng.

For my design, I pulled out a Stampin' Up! stamp set which I love. I stamped the image using StazOn onto Stampin' Up! watercolour paper. I used my Stampin' Up! markers and a blender pen to colour in the image. To age the image to match my patterned paper, I used a blending tool and distress ink to go over the image.

For the other elements, I used a scallop punch to create the scallop edge to the centre panel. I used some die cuts to frame the flowers. I used a fishtail banner die to die cut the sentiment. To create the frame, I simply traced around it. The centre image plus the sentiment are attached with foam tape, to add some dimension.

Supplies:

Paper: Glitz Design Pretty In Pin, Stampin' Up! very vanilla and watercolour paper

Stamp: Stampin' Up! Apothecary Art

Ink: Distress Ink antique linen, StazOn jet black, Memento, Stampin' Up! markers

Other: Fiskars scallop punch, Hooked on Craft flowers, Sizzix little leaves, Memeory Box elegant scrollwork, Die-namics fishtail flags, Stampin' Up! framelits labels collection.

I hope that you'll join us at Cardabilities this week. Be sure to link back your completed cards back to Cardabilities.

I would also like to say thank you to Karan for allowing me to be part of the Cardabilities team. Be sure to see the designs from the new design team, and I'm sure you'll be blown away by their talent and creativity.

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy Your Day

Hello everyone. I can really feel that spring is coming! It's starting to warm up and I noticed some new buds in my garden today. I really am tired of the cold weather, so this is a welcomed change. My card follows the shabby pattern inspiration challenge from The Shabby Tea Room.
You are asked to create a card or project inspired by the COLORS IN THE PHOTO and INCLUDE FLOWERS and DAMASK!

One great thing about this challenge was that I had a chance to go through my stash of papers. I always get a sense of relief to use something that has been stored for a very long time. The background paper was purchased approx 7yrs ago! Pays off to keep some things. I started building up a floral focus. I used some foliage and three sized roses. Here are some close ups..

And finally my sentiment...

Supplies:

Paper: Kaisercraft vanilla cardstock, Grant Archival scrappy chic, Glitz Design beautiful dreamer, Stampin' Up cardstock

Stamp: JustRite Stampers Heart to Heart set

Ink: Distress ink walnut stain

Other: Spellbinders shapeabilities foliage, Spellbinders nestabilities classic ovals large and floral ovals, Hooked on Craft flowers.

Thanks for stopping  by!

Just Because

Hello friends. Today the weather has turned, the sun replaced by rain but my creativity is not dampened! I had a look at the latest challenge from The Shabby Tea Room and felt motivated to participate.

This week the theme is 'Elegance & Lace' and you are required to create a card or project inspired by the photo USING WHITE/CREAM, KRAFT, PINK and LACE!

I have seen some beautiful vintage images of people in various stores in Etsy and knew that incorporating such an image would be perfect.

I added a number of flowers but my favourite is the flower with the glittery centre, I think it adds some elegance to the card.

Here are some other close ups...

I really enjoyed creating this card....just love the shabby chic style!

Paper: Glitz 6" paper pack Pretty In Pink, DCWV pastel, Kaisercraft vanilla cardstock
