12 Days Ornaments ~ Day One ~Partridge & Pear

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I am sharing my first completed ornaments of the 12 Days Ornaments Series by Larissa Holland. She is also known as mmmcrafts (blog and store name).  If this is something you are interested in, you are able to purchase the patterns from her Etsy store.

There are different colour combinations from this series. There is a lot of information on her website and also on the internet. I purchased a kit from My Felt Lady in Australia. I decided that I would complete the Jewel tone combination.

One thing that you definitely need which I purchased AFTER I had started this, is some Thread Magic. It was a game changer. When you are stitching through the Stick'n'Stitch, your needle just glides through without any issues.

Bulldogs Quilt

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I am sharing a quilt quilt that I made as a gift for a friend of mine who is a Bulldogs fan. She is there number one fan. While I was shopping last year, there was some NRL merch in the supermarket and there was some Bulldogs merch on the shelf. There was a Bulldogs tea towel. I bought it not sure what I was going to do with it. It sat in a bag for a while.

I used my EQ8 software to calculate the best use of the tea towel fabric and designed the pattern. I used bright blue fabrics that were from Spotlight (not any particular collection) and then coloured in the design using the fabric scans from the fat quarters that I had purchased. Once I was happy I pieced the quilt top together.

The quilting is a meander stitch in a blue thread.

I used a bright blue check for the binding which I really love.

I plan to gift this quilt to her on her birthday. She is such a giving person and I hope she likes the quilt.

It measures 39.5 inches by 48.5 inches.

Winter Appeal Beanies

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Each year, my school runs a winter appeal. Families are asked to donate warm clothing, blankets etc which are then passed on to a local charity who distributes the donations to those who are in need. I usually commence creating my projects during Lent as my form of Almsgiving and start making beanies etc using my various knitting machines.

I didn't photograph all of my beanies, but here are just a few....

Our Social Justice Leader said that the men like football beanies. I am not a sporty person, so I had to look the colours up on the internet LOL. Here are some NRL themed beanies.

It was great to be able to donate all of my beanies to a worthy cause.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quilt Machine Mat

Hello everyone! It has been a very long time since I have shared anything on my blog. Life has been busy, but I do I have some projects that I will be sharing very soon. I recently finished a large quilt and as a result I have lot of half square triangles to use up.

I decided to go through my bag of scraps and see what potential pairings of fabrics I had (it had been a little while) to see what I could use.

I had these fabrics. I sewed them together and trimmed them down so they would measure 2 1/2" and then joined enough to create a mat.

I quilted in the ditch and added my border and backing. I used the Vintage Country Floral bundle from Spotlight.
