Hello friends! As my school holidays draw to a close, I seem to gasp at how quickly the time has passed and wonder at how little of 'the fun stuff' I had hoped to do because other things seemed to come up. One of my goals for 2015 is to have better time management.
Yesterday, I was busy sorting out and organising my mixed media supplies as I sometimes order things that I already have! I made lots of lists and hopefully am well on the way of being all sorted. Hence I decided to have a go at creating a mixed media background for the card that I am sharing with you today. It also follows the latest sketch from Cardabilities.
To create my background, I used two Distress sprays Victorian Velevet and Tattered Rose. Once dry, I added a spritz of water to lift off some colour and then made extra splotches and sprayed away again. I then used a stencil and sprinkled some embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang in random spaces for some glimmers. I used watercolour papers, Spellbinder dies and distress inks to create all of my flowers and foliage that you can see here.
Supplies:
Paper: Prima Divine, watercolor paper
Stamp: JustRite Enjoy the Day Vintage Labels Four
Ink: Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose, Scattered Straw, Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Spray, Victorian Velvet and tattered Rose
Other: Spellbinders Rose Creations and Bitty Blossoms, Die-namics Fishtail Flags Stax, Hemp, Memory Box Stencil Texture Rings and Puddles, Modelling Paste, Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder Stardust Candy Rose, Martha Stewart Leaf Punch
