Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great week. Today I am sharing two cards which are part of the Magenta Collection by Kaisercraft. When I saw the stamp set, I immediately knew that I would love to create some watercoloured cards using them. I created two cards using two mediums - mists and watercolour markers, both fun to use and both producing different results. 

Apply generous drops of Kaiser Mists onto a laminated surface and then spritz it with water.

Press a piece of watercolour paper over and then dry with a heat gun. This creates a watercoloured background that can be used on its own or as a background that can be stamped upon.

You can use different mists to create different colour combinations.

Position the stamps strategically and fussy cut the images once stamped.

This technique is a great introduction to watercolouring for those who are willing to have a try!

My second card features watercolour markers to showcase the floral stamps.

I selected these images from the stamp set and coloured them in using a light and a dark coloured maker to add some definition. I also chose dark papers to add a contrast with my flowers as I wanted them to stand out.

Cherry Blossom Trees Using Cotton Buds

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I am sharing a technique that I have been keen to try and that is to use cotton buds to paint with. I plan on teaching this technique to my students when school goes back and I thought I better have a go before they do!

I discovered that by starting in a landscape orientation, I had more success in having a more realistic proportion to my tree! I started painting thinking I would have a branch, but I ended up with a tree. I was just enjoying the process.

I used a deeper brown to add shadows. I feel this tree was better than my previous. I also like how my branches ended up with this one...however it's all about the process sometimes.

Below is a tutorial showing how I created my Cherry Blossom Trees.

Wonderful Fairytale

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great day. Today I am sharing a layout that features products from Kaisercraft's Enchanted Collection. When I first saw this collection I immediately thought of fairies, but then I thought that this collection would be perfect to capture memories of children when they dress up. If you have photos of book week, themed parties, play dates or even just having fun in the dress up corner, this collection would be perfect to capture those occassions.

At the moment, I like tearing my papers to create texture. I have used PICTURESEQUE and have used its reverse as a contrast. To fill in the gaps, I have used another paper which also acts as a base.

To add layers to my layout, I cut out some tags and inked the edges to create a vintage look. I also scrunched up my die cut doily to add texture and to age it as well.

I like to use mounting foam to adhere different elements of my layouts. That enables me opportunities to add and tuck in the collectables and other embellishments that I have at hand.

I always look for inspiration from the paper strips at the base of the papers. I love the titles and often use them in my layouts. This was perfect for for my layout!

Explosion Box

Explosion Boxes have been around for a while and this is a fun way to use one to document travel photos and memorabilia. Decorate it as a travelling case and your friends and family will certainly be keen to share what is inside!

This explosion box has two layers which means there is lots of room for photos, journalling plus places to tuck in any small items such as ticket stubs etc that may have been collected from a special trip.

The sticker book offers many options in personalising the embellishments.

 This project can use a lot of paper, so don't throw away the scraps, as they can be used to create photo mats, mini books, tags and photo inserts for the pockets that have been created.

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be able to share my latest layout which features papers and products from Kaisercraft's Morning Dew Collection. It has many aqua/turquoise coloured papers and elements which is a colour that is a favourite of mine.

I created two art foam peony flowers to compliment the flowers from the collectables and also to add some dimension to my layout.

I made use of the preprinted designs of one of the collections papers and fussy cut out what I needed and used it as an embellishment around my photo. By using mounting foam to adhere elements, you can tuck things in as you go to build up your design which is what I did with this floral cluster.

To finish of my layout, I added some rhinestones in random spots just to add a little bit of bling!
