Thinking of You

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Today I am sharing a card with you that uses some new product PLUS lots of product from my stash. I think that while we love to buy new things, it's important to look at what we have and reimagine how they can be used once again.

I was very impressed with the Waffle Flower Postage Collage release. I purchased the die and one set of stencils. I love the vintage style in my crafting and I thought that I would incorporate this into my card.

I knew in advance which patterned papers I would be using and selected distress inks to compliment. Then I fussy cut vintage elements such as the clock and  aged some butterflies using vintage photo distress ink. I also had some vintage background stamps that I used to add to the vintage feel.

I added some flowers and twine and my card is complete!

Supplies:

Dies: Waffle Flower Postage Collage Die, Die namics fishtail flags stax
Paper: Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics and Vintage Autumn Basics

Ink: Distress ink Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Peeled Pain, Versafine vintage sepia

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders Stamp, Kaisercraft Butterflies CS854, Antiquities CS352, Texture Postmarks CS802

Other: Waffle Flowers Postage Collage Rose Stencil, Wild Orchid Crafts Blooms

Backyard Boy ~ Maja Design~

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. I am sharing a scrapbook page which is for an album that I am slowly making for my brother. As a toddler, he was always into cars, trucks etc and loved playing with them all the time. To create this page, I have selected papers from The Vintage Autumn Collection.

To alter the title to have a rugged masculine feel, I used Distress Spray Stain faded jeans and then used Clear Rock Candy. The Clock face was embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Midnight Bronze embossing powder. The clock faces were fussy cut Clocks XVI to add to the vintage/masculine feel of the page.

To frame my photo, I used the reverse XXI and distressed it. I  applied some weathered wood distress ink before adding a wall cut out from Wild orchid Crafts. I didn't alter it as I liked it raw.

Even though it's a masculine page, I still like to add flowers! The flowers help to frame the photo and of course compliment the beautiful papers!

The bottom section features a section of corrugated paper. I have had various colours in my stash for a while now! I used a ruler to tear a section of my papers and then I distressed them with some ink. I used XV as the very base of the page.

Fun With Tags ~Maja Design~

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. Are you addicted to Pinterest like me? I often have my iPad on my lap and I look around Pinterest during the commercial ads when I watch tv! I love getting ideas from this site and taking a peek at the beautiful creations from the talented crafters out in the world. I felt drawn to the tags that were coming up in my feed and decided that I was in the mood to make some. I also wanted to dabble in some watercolouring as well.

I started by stamping Silver Fairy by Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamps with Stazon Jet Black ink onto some watercolour paper. I coloured her in using Distress ink pads and a Tim Holtz detailer water brush. I simply stamped the inkpad onto an acrylic block and then used the detailer brush to draw colour from it to then colour the image. I used Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain. I did however have one distress marker which was Tattered Rose which I used to colour her skin.

I die cut Impression Obsession bare branch and leaf cluster. I shaped the leaves using tools from Susan’s Garden Tool Kit. I also die cut flowers using Memory Box flower mound and shaped them as well. I glued them using glossy accents and added a drop of Liquid Pearls petal pink in the centre. The sentiment is from JustRite Botannical Butterflies. I fussy cut the butterflies from one of the papers from the Collection.

My tag paper is Vintage Spring Basics 3rd of May. In the top right and bottom left corner, I inked both sections using a makeup sponge and Victorian Velvet Distress ink. I then used TCW stencil Art Is.

I had a lot of fun creating my second tag. It’s a bit grungy and easy to create. I used Vintage Autumn Basics No XIII and XXI for this tag.

I used Tim Holtz stencil Measured with some modelling paste down the length of my tag. Once dry, I used a distressing tool and applied Brushed Corduroy and Stormy Sky Distress inks over the top of the dried modelling paste to make the design pop.

I die cut Tim Holtz Weathered Clock and Picture Wheel using papers from the Vintage Basics Collection (Picture wheel and tag – XIII, Clock XXI).

To add definition, I inked all edges of my embellishments using Walnut Stain distress ink. It also hides any imperfections in your fussy cutting! I also used foam tape to add them to my page to add dimension.
