Hello everyone! As I write this blog post I am enjoying a cool breeze for the first time in a long while. The heat way that has taken over Sydney has been unbearable! 40 plus degree days in succession is too much to bear. It is so nice to have a window open and just let the house cool down naturally.
Todays card follows the current sketch from Mojo Monday.
I have a Christening to attend in a few weeks and felt inspired by this sketch to create my card. It took a few attempts because yesterday the temperature was 43 degrees and my focus was well...not happening!

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card that I have made for my cousin and his wife who are about to become parents to twin boys!
I have used a combination of Green Tara flowers with Wild Orchid Crafts apple blossoms to create my flower clusters. I die cut some leaves using an Elizabeth Craft Designs die.
To add to the wreath, some drops of liquid pearls added some finishing touches.
The onesies came from a really versatile die set from Little B. I used some scraps of paper from the collection and using a sponge dauber, inked the edges using a distress ink.

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've created a mini album and I thought that now is the perfect time to do so. They do take me a while to create ...but in the end the wait is worth it! I have some close friends at work who have new baby girls (who will receive this I'm not sure) so this has given me some inspiration and motivation to create an album. For this mini album I have used papers from the Vintage Baby Collection. I have also followed a tutorial to create this album. It's a pocket page style album. It's part of a tutorial series by My Sisters Scrapper which can be found here.
For the front of my album, I die cut this image from It's a Girl and used a Sizzix antique frame die to showcase it. I used some Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima blooms as well.
Throughout the album I used all of the 'girl' papers, ephemera cards and die cut sheets. I wanted to allow for journaling and personalisation in this album, and the journal cards make that possible.
I also used several baby themed die cuts. The onesie section folds out and offers room for photos and also for journaling. I also used stamps to add opportunities for journaling and also to add the dates for special photos and occassions.
This style of album had lots of interaction! I also created an envelope using my WR Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board and a sheet from the 6x6 paper pad. Inside I added a little booklet for more photos and journaling.
This is one of the back page. I used a journaling card and folded in half to create a little book. To create the closure, I stamped onto a leftover piece of patterned paper and adhered it with some foam tape.

Hello everyone! Today and I have
two baby cards to share with you. A colleague of mine recently went on maternity
leave and I thought I would create a card for her. As this is her first baby,
she doesn’t know what she is having...she wants a surprise...so I am covering
my bases and have created a card for a baby boy and girl. I have used the Vintage
Baby Collection for both cards.
As you know for my other projects, I use a lot of die cuts
in my projects. I used The reverse side of Vintage baby Cherish to create the
onesie and the butterfly, just from some lefts overs from the background of my
card base. I used Little B Baby die set to create the onsesie and Cheery Lynn
small exotic butterfly w/angel wings die.
To create the base of my card I used Vintage Baby Flowers
For Mum and Cherish. I also incorporated Flowers For Mum in the centre as
shown. I layered all elements of my centre with foam tape to add dimension. I
also love how beautifully Maja Design papers look when you distress the edges.
It really adds a vintage look. I tend to distress first then ink the edges with
an ink. I chose Vintage Photo distress ink as it’s not too dark. I added some
lace and a doily for a shabby chic touch.
For my second card, I have created an inchie or a patchwork
card. I used the Vintage Baby paper pad to create this card. Before
scrapbooking and cardmaking became my main craft, I also used to make quilts!
Drawing upon my knowledge of quilts, the types of fabrics you need to create a
quilt are light, medium and dark so this influenced my choices of papers from
the paper pad.
Each of the squares has been machine stitched and inked. I
used foam tape to attach each square to may card. I used Vintage photo Distress
ink again.
This panel is also from a page from the paper pad. The
sentiment was a borderstrip from it which I trimmed to fit. I die cut
Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles to frame it and mounted everything with
foam tape and framed everything with my flowers. This card was so much fun to
make!
