Vintage Card ~ Prima

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. I am taking advantage of my holidays and enjoying the time to create. I have joined in another Prima challenge and created a card using the December cards and tags sketch.

I used a Shabby Chic resin treasure to frame this beautiful vintage image cut out from one of the papers from the paper pad.

I used a combination of seam binding and hemp double bows to accent the coordinating flowers of the collection.

Supplies:

Paper: Tales of You and Me 6x6 Collection Kit

Flowers Tales of You and Me #586317

Die: Parisian Lace Metal Die Cut 1

Vacation ~ Prima BAP

Hello everyone! I hope that you have enjoyed Christmas with your families and friends. It's hard to believe that the year is nearly over. Today I am sharing a layout that I have created following the Prima BAP sketch for December. I had a chance to use my Prima oil pastels and I can say that they are wonderful to use. Creative Chemistry 101 ~ Day Two ~

Hello everyone! A little while ago, I purchased the Creative Chemistry 101 class and enjoyed watching all of the tutorials and learning all of the properties of distress etc. Last night I decided that I would make a start and commence the class...and boy did I have fun! I had placed an order of some materials earlier in the term as I had planned to complete the course in the school holidays.

Day Two has three techniques using distress inks. The longest part for me was locating a stamp in my stash that was a solid image! I managed to find a Stampin' Up! stamp that I had in my stash- crisis averted and creating continued.

To create my tags, I used Ranger cardstock and die cut them using ranger manilla cardstock. I already had some #8 kraft tags in my stash.

As the class is full of techniques, you receive printouts that you can add to the back of your tags for reference. I also added the colours of my distress inks as well.

Supplies:

Paper: Ranger manilla cardstock, Ranger Kraft Tag size #8, Distress watercolor paper

Dies:  Tim Holtz Tag Collection

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Upsy Daisy, Tim Holtz Urban Chic

Ink: Distress twisted citron, mermaid lagoon, ground espresso, wilted violet (tag 1)
victorian velvet, milled lavender, bundled sage, frayed burlap, gathered twigs, tumbled glass (tag 2)
mustard seed, cracked pistachio, ground espresso, mermaid lagoon, seedless preserves (tag 3)

Merry Christmas ~ inked inlay cards ~

Hello everyone! I am sharing the last on my Christmas cards with you. The cards that I have made were designed specifically for mailing. I needed to create cards that were flat and of a standard size...out of my usual design scope as my cards usually measure 6 x 6 inches or 5 x 7 inches in size. I also needed to be able to mass produce cards as well so they needed to have easy details to replicate. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuires inked inlay techique and decided that this would be perfect for my card.

As I haven't created one layered cards for a long time, I added an embossed background and also two die cut borders to add some extra details. Once my first card was created, I die cut all of the required pieces and then the construction was just an assembly line.

Supplies:

Stamp: (freebie with a magazine)

Ink: Distress ink Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch, Zing Metallic Finish Silver Embossing Powder

Paper: American Crafts Glitter paper pad,

Dies: Precious Marike Snowflake Border, Creative Dies Woodland Scene Set, Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Holiday Magic

Other: Ranger - Diamond Stickles, Crea8tive A5 double sided sticky sheets

As a teacher, everything is left to the last minute so I have managed to do my Christmas shopping in two-three days and I have spent the last few days wrapping presents, getting the tree ready, setting up the Christmas lights and cleaning!!!

Tonight I have decided to catch up on some blog posts. I have been on a roll with bauble cards and these are the last few that I have made.

I incorporated an inexpensive wooden tree ornament from Go-Lo as an element in this design...I have has it in my stash for ages!

Merry Christmas Bauble card

Hello everyone! I had a busy weekend creating more bauble shaped cards. I am sharing one with you today and more later on in the week. This will be a short post but as I am very tired from a busy day and a mass this evening with school.

I did use Spellbinders dies to create the bauble this time and I used Kaisercraft Turtle Dove Collection which is an older paper line that I have hoarded over the years.

Here are some close ups..

I used a Memory Box Glowing Candles die and supplimented the foliage with Kaisercraft's Mini Christmas Foliage set. I also used  a Martha Stewart branch punch along with a Sullivan's branch punch to add depth to the foliage as well. Some liquid pearls added the final touches to the background and also to the branches foliage cluster. The Poinsettia was one that I had in my stash from Hooked on Craft.

Christmas Bauble Card

Hello everyone! It's nearly the end of the school year and I now I can make a start on my Christmas cards. I love to look at them and make them. I have wanted to make a shaped card for a while and so I am happy to share my bauble shaped card with you today. It is about 6 inches in size. I downloaded a paper template from the internet and created a paper template to draw my base and folded card layer. I did some altering on my computer to get the right size.

I have three layers, two bauble layers one with patterned paper, one with cream cardstock and the third layer is a round circle die cut with patterned paper. I used scalloped scissors to create the cream bauble. I used foam tape in between my layers for dimension.

The wreath and the poinsettia were all created with dies and die cut from paper from the Kaisercraft collection. The berries were some pearls, to add a little bling!

Supplies:

Paper: Kaisercraft Christmas carol 6 1/2" paper pad and sticker sheet

Dies: Magnolia Christmas Poinsettias, Impression Obsession Die021-N (wreath)

Other: Ruby Rock It Snow White coarse glitter, Stampin! Up! cherry cobbler seam binding, bakers twine, Porta Craft flower stamens, scalloped scissors, Distress ink vintage photo, flat back pearl

Grateful

Hello everyone! I haven't made a card for a little while and I thought I needed a break from writing my school reports and decided to have some creative time. I liked the Tic Tac Toe challenge and decided to play along!

I have used specialty papers - thread- and builder stamps in my card.

I used papers from Kaisercraft Bow and Arrow collection as my base papers. I machine stitched around the edge of my papers (thread part of the challenge). I then stamped the largest flower and leaves from the Altenew Peony Bouquet and die cut them with their matching dies.

I have been wanting to have a card that had a trellis, so I created one using two Spellbinder dies. I used two rectangular dies to create the frame and then used a background die to create the rest of the trellis. I die cut the Kensinton Brand die by Memory Box and used sponge daubers and distress inks to colour it in! Once dry I added clear Wink of Stella to the butterflies and to the flowers.

Supplies:

Paper: Kaisercraft Bow and Arrow  6 1/2" paper pad

Stamps: Altenew Peony Bouquet and dies

Inks: Distress inks spun sugar, worn lipstick, picked rasberry, shabby shutters and gathered twigs

Altenew frosty pink, cotton candy, coral berry, frayed leaf, forest glaciers and evergreen, Wink of Stella clear

Dies: Memory Box Kensignton Branch, Spellbinders Long Classic rectangle and Grateful Lattice
