A Twinkling Christmas

Hello everyone! I hope that you're having a great day. Today I am sharing two projects using papers from Meg's Garden. I have used the cardmakers pack and the Twinkling Christmas papers. You can purchase these or download them from the store.

I have used some delicate border and frame dies to add a vintage/shabby chic touch to my card. I used this beautiful image from an ephemera sheet which is also available.

I used Tim Holtz holiday green dies to die cut the foliage to add to my floral clusters. The flowers are from my stash.

I recently added to my scrapbooking tools something that I have been pondering over for the last two years...an electronic cutting machine. I purchased a Silhouette Cameo and we are still becoming friends! I used it to create my second project which is a gift card holder.

You open it up and slide your gift card inside the white slip box. There is space for stamping etc but I haven't decided what I am going to do with it yet. The file cuts all the pieces and scores everything that needs scoring. Couldn't be easier once you have the right cut setting on my machine!

Christmas Envelope Mini Album Tutorial

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great week viewing the new collections from Kaisercraft. As you have seen, Kaisercraft have released some beautiful Christmas collections this year and the Mint Wishes Collection certainly doesn't disappoint. Today I am sharing an envelope mini album that I created using this collection. This album is a gift for a dear friend of mine who is a proud 'poppy.' He enjoys sharing pictures of his grandson from his phone, so my gift to him is this album. As he is a non crafter, the album is straight forward therefore it is easy to construct.

I have two videos to share with you. One is a walk through of the completed album and the second is the tutorial. So grab a cuppa and enjoy!

The Video Walk Through

The next video is the tutorial. This is a lengthy video as it was filmed in real time. To assist you in your viewing, you can fast forward to the following sections:
33m matting the covers
39min hinges
51min pages and inserts
57min matting pages and inserts
1hr 1min attaching pages to album
1hr 3 min creating the pocket and belly band

The format of the album was deliberate. I didn't want it to be too difficult for my friend, as some mini albums have a lot of interactions. However there are still lots of spaces for photos.
Mini books are great inserts into mini albums. You can journal and add small photos. The sentiments from the cut a part sheet are great for creating these.
The papers in the collection coordinate beautifully! You can mix and match so all of the components of your album effortlessly. By limiting the colour palet, it makes the designing the album less complicated and it makes the whole experience enjoyable.
Kaisercraft Products:  PP234 Mint Wishes 12 x 12 Paper Pad| SS348 Sticker Sheet | CT891 Collectables | Cardstock CD102 Licorice and CD651 Kraft |CD509 Card Pack Square | Rhinestones RS445 Ice and SB700 Silver| T321 Glue| T318 Craft Knife| T317 Craft Scissors
Other: Distress Ink Vintage Photo |Scor-Tape| Crop-o-dile Corner Chomper Tool Deco and Stub and Corner Rounder Tools.

I hope you'll try and create an envelope mini album with one of the Kaisercraft Collections.
With one pack of envelopes, you can make two mini albums. These are great as gifts and also Christmas is coming!
Happy crafting!

Christmas Village

Hello everyone! I have a Christmas village project to share with you today. It's part of the October blog challenge at Kaisercraft. The challenge is to create something using the following moodboard as your inspiration.

Immediately I thought of a winter village. I have several of the Tim Holtz village dies and soon began creating with them.

I found a traceable template on the internet to create the sleigh and the packages. They use papers from the Mint Wishes collection. The reindeers are created using a die.

To create your own reindeer, fold a piece of kraft cardstock in half and place your reindeer die over it lining up the head (don't worry about the antlers) to be just below the met which cuts the die. Run this through your machine and it should fold open. Cut your die as it was internded using your patterned paper. Glue your die cut onto your kraft base and decorate. Your reindeer should be able to stand up on its own.

Supplies:

Kaisercraft Products: PP10279 Mint Wishes Paper Pad |CD110 Mocha | Glitter Cardstock GC110 Lagoon and GC104 Crystal | PT229 Ice Blue Glitter Tape | Pearls SB794 Snow, SB784 Ice Green and SB792 Chocolate
