Baby Boy ~ Maja Designs~

Hello everyone! I am the keeper of memories in my family. I am the eldest of five children and it brings me great joy in creating albums for my siblings. I am currently working on an album for my brother and this is him as a newborn many years ago.

I created this bead cluster using beads from my stash. It is looped around the wire frame that I created using florists wire. To create the round shape, I moulded the wire around a modelling paste container that was just the right size.

I used a Kaisercraft’s Hidden Treasures stamp to create this tag. It is vintage and fits perfectly with a baby page.

I use flowers in all of my layouts. I tucked in some cheese cloth to add some texture. I used some Prima flowers as well as some Green Tara flowers...all blue, varying in sizes to frame the photo. The top flowers are anchoring the ends of the florist wire frame.

I used a sentiment from a Kaisercraft stamp set and used some left overs to form this cluster. Banners are so helpful to fill in spaces and to use up scraps of paper. I used foam tape to add dimension.

I machine stitched and distressed the edges of my papers. I also used foam tape again to add dimension. I used a Martha Stewart Lattice Heart Punch to edge one of my papers. It also frames part of my photo. For my background, I used Cotton Candy Gelato and a Tim Holtz dot fade stencil to compliment the blue in the papers.

Have a Great Day

Hello friends! As my school holidays draw to a close, I seem to gasp at how quickly the time has passed and wonder at how little of 'the fun stuff' I had hoped to do because other things seemed to come up. One of my goals for 2015 is to have better time management.

Yesterday, I was busy sorting out and organising my mixed media supplies as I sometimes order things that I already have! I made lots of lists and hopefully am well on the way of being all sorted. Hence I decided to have a go at creating a mixed media background for the card that I am sharing with you today. It also follows the latest sketch from Cardabilities.

To create my background, I used two Distress sprays Victorian Velevet and Tattered Rose. Once dry, I added a spritz of water to lift off some colour and then made extra splotches and sprayed away again. I then used a stencil and sprinkled some embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang in random spaces for some glimmers. I used watercolour papers, Spellbinder dies and distress inks to create all of my flowers and foliage that you can see here.

Supplies:

Paper: Prima Divine, watercolor paper

Stamp: JustRite Enjoy the Day Vintage Labels Four
