Just a Thought Away...

Hi everyone! The card I am sharing with you is for the latest Shabby Tea Room challenge. The theme of 'Sweet Summertime' along with this beautiful photo for inspiration and Starr asks that you create a card or project inspired by the picture USING TEAL or AQUA, PINK and BROWN!

 How could I resist!!

I have a number of Webster's Pages collections as digital files. The beauty of that is I can simply print what I need AND you will never run out! For this card, the paper is from the Ladies and Gents Collection. The cups of tea featured on the paper are just perfect for this challenge.

I stamped this gorgeous labels stamp with Versamark then applied white embossing powder. I cut and embossed it along with a floral oval frame. I applied foam tape to each layer to add dimension.

I created a bow then added some flowers. I decided to make a trinket pin to add that final touch.

Supplies:

Paper: Webster's Pages Ladies and Gents, DCWV pastel

Stamp: JustRite Easter Blessings,  Stampin' Up Whimsical Words

Ink: Stampin' Up Soft Suede, Versamark

Other: Spellbinders Nestabilities classic ovals large and floral ovals, Spellbinders nested ovals medallion, Kaisercraft flower and pearl flourish, white embossing powder, Bow Easy, pink ribbon, trinket pin.

To Cheer You

Hi everyone. I am sharing a card that I have made for a special little girl who is unwell at the moment. I followed the JustRite Friday Challenge #071 perfect pastels to complete the card.

To begin my card, I went through my papers and I found a Webster's pages paper that contained some pinks and yellows. I used a sentiment stamp from JustRite and then I began building my layers from there.
I stamped and inked my sentiment. I die cut two Spellbinders dies, layered using foam tape and then placed all on a paper doily.

I have found it difficult to find trinket pins, so I made my own!

Supplies:

Stamps: JustRite Hugs to You

Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia and Distress Ink Old Paper

Paper: Webster's Pages Western Romance

Other: Spellbinders Nestabilities classic ovals large and lacey ovales, Spellbinders Shapeabilities pendants Fleur de Lis, Prima flowers, peach ribbon, lace, Bow easy, trinket pin, paper doily.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

The card I am sharing with you is for the The Shabby Tea Room birthday bash challenge. For this challenge you must include a cup cake.

I recently made an Easter card. I really love the design and how it looked so I have used it again for this card!

To make the cupcake, I drew a cupcake base template that would fit inside the oval die I planned to use. I selected a piece of patterned paper then used a punch to add a decorative edge. Using my Scorpal, I created score lines which I then folded. I used a strong double sided tape to adhere the cupcake to the base.

Using another piece of cardstock, I sketched an outline for the cake. I punched a lot of flowers and glued them along the base of the cake (just one row). Next I glued the cake to the base so that the flowers were semi covered by the base. I continued punching and gluing the flowers to finish the cupcake.

Using a background stamp, I created a background paper which I then inked around the edges. I also used die cut layers to add some interest.

To finish it off, a pretty bow, trinket pin and pearl sticker as well as....a tiny sentiment!

Supplies:

Paper: DCWV pastel paper stack, Grant Archival paper pack, Grant Archival neutral paper stack

Ink: Stampin’ Up soft suede, Distress Ink antique linen

Stamps: Stampin’ Up En Francais and Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Other: Spellbinders Nestabilities lacey ovales, classic ovals large, Spellbinders Shapeabilities standard tag, fleur de lis pendant, Hooked on Craft trinket pin, Prima flower, EK Success small daisy punch, Stampin’ Up eyelet border punch, Scor Pal, Christna Re pearl sticker, Bow easy, pink gingham ribbon, gold nylon ribbon.

Happy Easter

I absolutely love Pion Design papers. I have been admiring them for a while. I was absolutely ecstatic when my order arrived this week. As we will be celebrating Easter, that became my inspiration for my project.

I started by die cutting this main image. I then began layering it using a variety of Spellbinders dies. I used foam tape between the top 2 layers to add some dimension.

Next I began playing with the background papers. My main colours are beige and dark brown. The beige background paper needed something extra. I inked the edges then used a background stamp. I wanted a vintage look, so I pressed lightly and inconsistently so that sections would appear to be faded.

Next came the lace, ribbon, trinket pin and flower.

Just a small sentiment to finish the card.

Supplies:

Paper: Pion Designs Fairytale of Spring, Grant Archival neutral paper stack

Ink: Stampin’ Up soft suede, Distress Ink antique linen

Stamps: Stampin’ Up En Francais and Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Other: Spellbinders Nestabilities lacey ovales, classic ovals large, Spellbinders Shapeabilities standard tag, fleur de lis pendant, Hooked on Craft flower and trinket pin, Bow easy, lace, brown ribbon, gold nylon ribbon.

Sew Creative

This layout is for the March Once Upon a Sketch challenge. The theme of this layout is it has to be based on YOU and something you are really good at.

I have several crafts that I enjoy. I sew, quilt, knit, crochet. I love to make cards and scrapbook. My projects aren’t perfect and things don’t always line up perfectly. I just love creating and making. I feel a sense of joy especially when there is a recipient to one of my projects. I receive sincere thanks and that makes me happy!

A close up of my journalling....

The photo I took features a quilt I made. I am extremely proud of this quilt. It is a pinwheel quilt which I had professionally quilted. This is my favourite quilt thus far.

This cluster represents something I would tend to use when card making.

This cluster represents a floral cluster I would incorporate into a scrapbook layout.

The scissors represents all my crafts combined- you need scissors for everything!!!
